Architecture
of Awareness

Phillips' paintings are less concerned with the architecture of place than with the architecture of awareness. Stairways, bridges and passageways become metaphors for inner transformation, while expansive spaces invite moments of pause and reflection. Emerging from a personal journey away from the acceleration of modern life, the works explore how stillness can alter perception and deepen our relationship to the world around us.
The resulting paintings function as psychological spaces, quiet environments in which viewers can momentarily step outside the pressures of productivity and reconnect with a slower, more contemplative experience of time.
